As most of us were taught, the French Huguenots landed in the cape in the 1600’s, well 1688 to be precise, mainly through invitations from the Dutch East India Company. With them came their passion for wines. When they arrived in the Cape they were allocated a valley for their crops. The only issue was they would have to venture over the Helshoogte Pass.

On the crest of this pass is where you will find the elegantly beautiful Delaire Graff Estate. Back in those days they had lookout, which was used to watch for ships entering the Table Bay Harbour in order to take their crops to sell.
